ID Health and Wellness Focused App Wins Nationally Recognized Award
In October 2012, ID’s new health and wellness focused mobile app was awarded second place in the prestigious national “Blue Button Mash Up Challenge” sponsored by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information. The goal of the challenge was to catalyze public and private organizations to make it easier for individuals to access their personal health information online, and to encourage consumers to use that information to improve their health.
The company placed second among a total of 17 entrants from around the country with an innovative app that centralizes and transforms patients’ raw data to provide an organized, simple picture of their health. The app is part of ID’s larger mobility practice designed to deliver intuitive, consumer-centered, and mission-focused mobile solutions.
The Blue Button initiative is the result of the vision of President Barack Obama, U.S. Federal Chief Technology Officer Todd Park, and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ Chief Technology Officer Peter Levin. The initiative utilizes the principles of open data and leverages the private sector to help solve challenges in the nation’s healthcare system.
The ID Blue Button app will be available on the Apple App Store in early 2013. Sign up with your email to receive a friendly reminder when it becomes available.
